Finally....homemade jam!

After seven years of having a small refrigerator/freezer, we have done it. We have a side by side fridge now that has a much bigger freezer than we have ever had. However, I still have managed to fill it to the brim. I really need a freezer in my garage, but that will have to wait for a while. Yesterday, I turned these.....

into this.

While at Costco, I noticed their strawberries looked really good and were a good price. I bought 12 lbs. of berries and made SO much jam. I had a lot of leftover berries, so I just pulsated it in my Bosch blender and froze it in freezer qt. bags for desserts, or whatever else. We are set to go with strawberries now. Next weekend I plan on going to a local blackberry farm to pick a pound of blackberries for around $7. I have no freezer room now, so I'll have to figure out what I am going to do with all of them.

p.s. Don't be intimidated by the jam. It takes less than a half hour to make. I prefer freezer jam over canned because it tastes more fresh.
