Carter's Birthday!

Since Carter's birthday is on Sunday we decided to go to the West Mesa Aquatic Center on Saturday and let him swim around. He had great fun. I on the other hand was trying to shield him from the 10 year old couple making out in the corner of the pool. Come on...you're 10 years old! On Sunday, he woke up and was immediately greeted by his mom and dad singing Happy Birthday to him. He thought that was pretty cool. He opened up his presents from his Grandpa and Grandma Fielding and then had a french toast breakfast. After breakfast he opened up the rest of his presents. He has been talking for months about what he wanted for his birthday...Thomas the Tank Engine trains. I managed to get 8 of them off ebay for a fraction of the price they are sold for in the stores. He has been spending hours already with them. Woo hoo! He also got a puzzle from my parents (crocodile creek). Very exciting day for him. He made sure every one at church knew it was his birthday too. After church we ate dinner, and had some friends over for the much awaited birthday cake. Carter wanted a Thomas ice cream cake. Chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream...he has been very specific about this one. I ordered it from Baskin Robbins because I scored a great coupon for a cake and I have no supplies to be making a cake like that. The cake was awesome and very good too! He had a great birthday and I'm still wipping away the tears knowing that he is just getting older by the day.

Below is a video of Carter that I shot last week. He was supposed to be falling asleep for his nap, but instead he was singing a song "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. When I was home in April, my brother, Andrew, was practicing this song for his high school graduation. Carter would practice with him on the karaoke machine. I can't belive he can still remember it that good...he's got the run down really good at the end. We think it is so funny...probably because we are his parents.
